Julie Polge — Scientific illustrator

As a science illustrator and a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Sciences (specializing in science culture!), I have been working for several years with academic and cultural institutions to make science accessible without oversimplifying it.
Passionate about science and endlessly curious, I also hold a Master’s degree in Neuroscience and a Master’s degree in Science Communication. Since my love of drawing has never left me, I decided to combine my various passions and put them to work for science and its practitioners. That is how my freelance illustration business was born in March 2017.
My goal
My aim is to ensure that your field of work or subject matter is accessible to everyone. Whether you are an institution, a researcher, a business or even a charity, illustration is an effective way to convey your message to your audience. Making knowledge accessible to all, sharpening critical thinking and sparking curiosity… these are the goals that guide my work.
My strengths
- A dual background: I operate at the interface between science and society.
- A scientific background: I am familiar with the academic world and the research sector. I am able to quickly grasp a wide variety of subjects.
- A communications background: I communicate effectively with the public by ‘translating’ and making scientific content accessible.
- Artistic versatility: I adapt to your requirements by offering a range of services: posters, live drawing, atmosphere, illustrated summaries…
- I work in French and English.
